Default New member question for crew cab owners

I've been lurking this forum for a few weeks and finally bought a new truck based on info I gleaned from these forums. Thanks to all the members here. One of the tough choices I had was bed length. Had an 03 screw with the short bed and wanted the extra length but after looking at both I actually like the look of the 6.5 foot bed better. So do most owners who by the 6.5 foot bed like it for practicality or looks?

For me it was practicality.

I think the 6.5 looks way better on a Scab but I like the shorter on the crew. I only use the bed when I hunt so no need for length.

I'd have to assume its for function. Turning that big of a wheelbase would be a headache just for form.

I was more concerned about overall length so I went with the short bed.

I like the 5.5 on a crew can personally so that's what I got. It's hard enough to park a crew as it is...

Same here, I knew it'd be a little harder to park with the longer wheelbase so I went with the 5.5. Plus I like how it looks as well. My last truck was also a 5.5ft bed and I very rarely wished I had a longer bed, so I knew functionally it would work for me also.

This was hard to park. You literally could not pull into a parking spot. You had to back in.

I agree with the consensus here. The Scab looks proportionate with the 6'5" but the SCrew looks best with the short bed:

I back in with this short F150, short F250 and long F350. Back in is way easier than front facing any day of the week.
