New member with 2012 F150 XLT
Just traded my Ram 2500 crewcab diesel for a 2012 F150 XLT 5.0L 4x4. New here, just digging into all the information. I looked at EcoBoost trucks, but frankly, I'm a bit scared of it, seeing some of the posts here.
I've made a couple of small mods, thought I'd post a couple pics. These are hosted on photobucket, hopefully they show up...
New from the dealer-
Added a tasteful 5.0 emblem where Ford denied us lowly 5.0 owners, not sure I like these, I may change them out-
Removed the front tag holder since I'm not required to have a front tag. The hole left over looks hideous, so I am experimenting with the below. This is actually a piece of galvanized gutter screen from Home Depot. I can't decide if I want to leave this in, and if so, should I paint it silver? or black? Opinions??

Thanks, the emblems came from eBay of course. They are actually very nice quality, thick and heavy. They match the "XLT" part of the F150 emblem very well, I almost put them there. He has them in other colors of text as well, red, blue, etc I think...here's a link-

I like the screen, great idea. I have been thinking of buying a grill insert but I just can't justify the money right now for a problem only I notice. This may be a really low cost solution for me to try...you just zip tied it in from behind?

Right now, it's wired in with stainless steel wire because I didn't have zip ties handy, but it's actually pretty sturdy.
Two wires on top through the holes in the bumper where the tag holder bolts in.
Two wires on the bottom in the slots where the tabs of the tag holder pop in. You can slide wire or zip ties between the plastic bumper cover and the bumper itself on the bottom so they are not visible.
Run your wires or ties through the mesh on the back side and tighten up.
This cost all of $3 at home depot, cheap mod and looks much better IMO.
