Default New Info on the 2012's

Here is a piece of information just posted on the net yesterday from a credible source with respect to the 2012 Super Crews with the EB motor and 6.5" bed.

As I have opined before, they always offer some new goodies with each new model year, to keep sales alive and the product line interesting, and I am sure there will be more.

Excerpt: The [new] configuration change beefs up the thickness of the frame rails, adds heavy duty shock absorbers, additional engine cooling and auxiliary transmission cooler....and seven-lug wheels.

Now all the new bits can come out. My 2011 Screw 6.5 bed was built two days ago. The increased payload would have been nice as I do use mine as a truck sometimes.

The F150's with the 7 lugs is not new for 2012. They were offered in 2010.5 as well. These also have the heavier frames.

This platform was originally designed for the new 4.4 diesel engine that never got released for the F150‘s.

Yes,the heavy duty F150s were available in regular cab and scab configurations. But they are now offering the heavy duty F150 in a screw in 2012.

The 2010.5 is a Super Crew. Am I reading this wrong? Maybe this was only intended for the diesel powered trucks.

Now if they would just add the 6.2L to this new heavy duty configuration Screw, it would be a towing beast!
