Default QR Bed Extender Concept: Picture

Thanks again to everyone who commented on this idea. Here is a picture to help you understand the latest options.

The stock Ford bolt is on the left.

Threaded/Drilled Rod
This is a threaded stainless steel rod with a hood latch pin to secure the bed extender. (A small lock could also be put through the drilled hole for security.) This sticks out of the bed side by about 1 3/4" is potentially vulnerable to damage/bending when loading/unloading cargo.

Posilock Pin
This option does require enlarging the existing threaded hole in the bed side.
As mentioned earlier, this is an industrial level locking detent pin. It is very strong and resistant to bending. The detent ***** are actuated only when the push button is fully depressed. This pin is also available with a keyed locking option for security.

I certainly understand the concerns about drilling out the threads in the existing fitting. A number of thread replacement options, like a "Helicoil" exist to return the threads to the original size.

Thanks again for your comments.

Default Samples Coming

Samples are coming of both the threaded rod concept and the posilock pin concept.

There's still some engineering to do to confirm final dimensions etc.

Northlight Labs is working on it at our Massive Global Headquarters.....

Thanks!

Hey guys,

Wondering how the manufacturing process is coming along and if your samples are being tested. Getting anxious to try this out!
