New Here, got a question for you guys....
 

Bought a 2011 FX4 supercrew with ecoboost a month ago. Has about 40k on it. I knew going into it the stock pirelli's were at the end of their life. Starting to look at tires now. I have the 20" rims. I am driving on the beach a handful of times each year so thats about the extent of the off roading I'm planning on doing. Just looking for a quality tire that isn't too loud and doesn't affect my gas mileage much. Wouldn't mind if it took up a little more of my wheel well either! What do you guys recommend?

I feel tires are totally personal preference, and you'll get a lot of different answers

P275/60r20 Toyo AT 2

I've been a fan of the BFG TA KO tires since I ran them on my Jeep about 8 years ago.

They're a fairly aggressive looking AT with some good sidewall strength.

Thanks for the responses so far. Forgot to mention that I'd like to keep it as close to $200-$220 a tire as I can.

$200-$220 per tire for a 20" wheel on our trucks is SEVERELY going to limit you ... Your budget really needs to start at least at about $275/tire ... if not about $300 ...

Sorry, but that's the price you pay for the 20" wheels ...

a P rated tire will be best if you not going to do any significant towing. it will ovver a smoother ride as well as weigh less than a LT tire.

look at Toyo AT, any AT tire for a matter of fact. check out Discount tire

If you're not wanting to affect MPG much, and you want to fill up the wheel well a little, I'd recommend 275 60 20 in some sort of AT tire. They are just about an inch larger in diameter but you can still get P rated tires in that size. Personally, I think the Ko2's are great but they are a little more expensive. That's the best advice I can give!:thumbsup: Nice looking truck by the way.

Edit to add: The cooper AT3 are a great tire as well, and they are priced at 161 on treaddepot for 275/60/20. The KO2's are 274. Depends how much you are willing to fork out!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will be towing a travel trailer 8-10 times a year up to 300 miles away so I am thinking of sticking with LT tires. I'll do some more research and see what I can find. Good news is I live close to Delaware so at least I can buy them there and save some loot on taxes:thumbsup:
