New here! Got a project underway!
Hey there folks. New to the group and f150s. About a week ago I picked up this 2009 regular cab pretty cheap. It's currently in anti theft mode because the previous owner said they swapped out the original ecu and never had it reprogrammed. I found out they put one in from a 2002 Ford focus... anyway I have no plans to get the current engine running. Instead, it's going to be a project for me and my dad to build. I really want to go for a coyote truck engine since I can find them at a pretty reasonable price. There's a couple things I want to be sure of before start buying anything. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the coyote engines started in the '11 trucks. Does anyone know if the frame has changed any between those years? Are the engine mounting points on the coyote different from the 4.6? I've done alot of looking online and by the looks of it a coyote should just fall right into place. Just would like some reassurance.
I'd appreciate all helpful comments. I'm here to get information and learn.

4.6 is a totally different motor than the 302.
The easiest way would be to find/buy a wrecked(preferably in the rear) 5L truck, so you can get all the drivetrain and electrics

I understand they are totally different. Im specifically asking about the mounts between the two and if the 09's are different than the 11's in anyway. But I've already sourced an engine and trans from an auto recycler. No harness, but i plan to go with one from power by the hour to make it simpler.
