Default Short Antennas

For those of you that have a short antenna, did you notice any loss of reception for HD Radio stations? I listen to those the most when not using ipod or Sirius radio. Would like to get a shorter one, but only if I can still pull HD with loss. Thanks!

If your a Sirius user, not an issue.

I went with a shorter, 14in antenna. Not sure where you listen, but the major radio stations around Kansas City, I notice no difference, even though I technically know there is one.

I have the .50 Cal antenna, it sucks just like OEM antenna does. But I listen to Sirius.

Default Short Antennas

I had a shorty and while there was minimal loss, the metal part that screws into the truck was poor quality and rusted into place. Dealer had to replace the entire thing.

I installed a 13" Antenna X about a year ago and can't tell any real difference from the factory flagpole that used to be there. I'm sure their is some signal loss... 13" compared to OEM but I surely can't tell any real change.

Depending on the strength of the signal of the radio station, you could have a paper clip and still get reception (provided they were pumping out craploads of power). Lower strength stations, you should notice a difference.

Thanks for the answers. I guess I will stick with the stock one for now. Besides, it serves a dual purpose. Let's me know when I am in a parkign garage that I probably should not be in....
