New Black Wheels, Nasty Brake Dusting
I recently had fuel gloss black wheels installed on my 2014 FX4, 43k miles.
Have any of you ditched the stock pads due to their excessive dusting?
Am I crazy? Gloss black not heavy brake dusts friend lol.
Looking at Wagner Oex and Wagner coated rotors as a replacement. No one carries them down where I live so amazon it is for $189 delivered, same price as rockauto.com
The fleet mechanic where I work has been installing Wagner Oex's on SUV and light trucks for last 2 years and says they work out great, quiet and minimal dust on the wheels.

I'm still using oem pads and no brake dust gets on my very shiny wheels ever. I installed caliper covers, it redirects all that nasty dust down and out on the road instead of the wheels. They make them in 3 colors, Red, Black, and Yellow. I chose red as it's the color of my truck more or less. They are made of metal so they also act as a heatsink that will help cool the brakes.

I had bad dust on my front wheels...nasty stuff. I took off the pads and installed Hawk Ceramic pads (on the front only). I was having no problems with the rear pads.
No more dust. Truck stops good and I am happy.
Good Luck.

Just hit the order now button on Amazon. E coated Wagner rotors and their ceramic Oex pads are in route. Didn’t want to change the factory pads but dusting like mad. Rotors have 43k miles on them and didn’t want to gamble on mating new pads as they have a lot of ridges.

Fleet mechanic at work used thermoquiets until 2 years ago with no issues until the state account started supplying Oex’s, said he’d put them on his own cars.

i cant take the brake dust anymore, its brutal! i thought black wheels would hide it better and the new powerstops i installed are throwing brake dust way worse than my oem pads and rotors.
Thanks for the link Rnlcomp
