Default New 2012 Fx2 - Rubbing brake noise coming to a stop

Anybody else have a "rubbing/slight grinding sound" when coming to a soft stop. When I come to a soft stop the last 5/10ft I hear the sound and feel it a little in the peddle. If I brake hard no noise. At first I figured the pads need to bed because the truck was new. I have 2000 miles on it now and its the same, maybe a little worse. Not loud but noticeable and annoying.

Taken it to the dealer twice first time I get the "no problem found". Second time I took the service guy for a ride to show him. He tells me its normal and they all do it now due to harder pads. His suggestion was just hit the brakes harder and you wont hear it. Not real happy with that answer so a may take it to another dealer and see how it goes. Anyone have this noise, never heard about it complaned about on the forum so I'm not buying the "they all do it" response

I had several brake issues when my 2012 was new. A slight grab at low speed and brake smell that would not go away. New pads resolved it for me.

Do you hear the noise with windows up or down? I havent' noticed anything in my 12 FX2 but will start listening a bit better.

Up or Down... You'd notice it if you had it. The best way I can explain it is it sounds like a truck with completely shot brakes, kinda metal to metal grind. The weird part is it only does it the last few feet of a nice normal soft stop. I can brake all day at speed and hear nothing. Its that last second or two when coming to a complete stop. The braking itself feels perfect, just some noise at the end of a stop. Not a squeal, more of a low grind/rub. Some days it louder than others, some times it wont do it, but 80% of the time it does. Hard to tell the location, but I think its the back.

also the grind noise isn't constant its more of a pulsating sound that gets slower as the wheel slows down. Kind of like it only rubs on just one part of the rotor.

It goes away after the first few stops but nevertheless, it's damn annoying,

Default Brake noise on slow start and soft brake stop

I am getting the same noise on braking at slow speeds. Also getting a "whirring" or motor sound when put in gear from front left engine compartment but the Ford dealer says this is a vacuum hose and normal.

When I take foot off brake or slow down with no brake i also get this noise.....seems to go off and on when I steer left/right. Getting a full diagnostic of brakes despite the reluctance of the service manager.

Mine will grind a bit after the truck sets for a few days. Probably due to surface rust, but nothing after that.

I agree I have a 2012 with about 10k miles on it, u explained it perfectly I have the same exact problem. Will be taking it to the dealer and not allow them to give me the run around, thx for posting. I will repost if the problem gets isolated and resolved.
