Default Need Schooling on 2WD Leveling

I have a 2013 FX2 with appearance package (5.0) and want to level it, but I need some schooling on what to look for and expect.

How much of a level should I be looking for?
Do I need an alignment after?
What kind of decrements in ride quality should I expect?
What kind of decrements in gas mileage should I expect?

TIA

Do you want to raise the front to level it or lower the rear to level it? I've had both of my F-150's lowered in the back to level them and only spent about $85 bucks for the kit to do it. No alignment needed and its easier to get access to the bed too.

I leveled my 2013 2wd platinum 5.0 2". Got it done in Baton Rouge at CSC (geaux Tigers) . It rides the same. I lost about 1 mpg city and Hwy. It was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend so not sure how much it cost. From every thing I read, 2" is the highest you wanna go without risking problems further down the road.

How much of a level should I be looking for? depends on what look youre going for. Level, nose slightly higher, etc. measure front and rear and do simple math.
Do I need an alignment after? yes, anytime you modify the front suspension or repair a wearable part
What kind of decrements in ride quality should I expect? slightly stiffer due to less travel.
What kind of decrements in gas mileage should I expect? 1-2, depends on size and weight of new tires if applicable

TIA

I leveled my 09 SCrew 2WD two months ago, and went with 275/65/18 BFG A/T's. I got a 2" level in the front, and a block in the rear to level it out. Lost about 1.5 mpg city, 1 mpg hwy. In my opinion, my truck rides a lot smoother/better since I've leveled it. Could be the tires, could be the level...I have no clue! Pull the trigger! You'll be glad you did.

By the way, the REAL Death Valley is in Clemson, SC!!!

Just to be clear. Anytime you change any thing on your FRONT suspension such as a level. Then you would need an alignment immediately. Unless you want to eat through tires.

Thanks guys, I know from lowering a Mustang that messing with the front suspension warrants an alignment, but I wasn't sure about lifting.

To add more info, I'd like to raise the front to be completely level, so I need to do some measuring and math to determine how much. I don't plan to change my wheels or tires, nor go higher than a level.

kenbob, do you mind asking how much you paid there? I'm in Houston but go home to LA frequently, and BR is a short drive. Also, did the price include hardware and alignment? Thanks.

I think it is $300-400 for everything. That includes alignment. It was a gift so I'm not sure. They do great work.
