Keep the silver. The black is too much. If they were a different style wheel, black would work. In my opinion, those wheels in black look like the cars driving around with their hubcaps removed. Some people will automatically choose black, simply because it's the "thing" to do. It can definitely look good when done right. There are many times when it's not done right, though, and the wheels wind up killing an otherwise nice truck. Also, I like how those silver wheels tie in the badges and decals on the bed.

I like the machined wheels, but I'm not a fan of black wheels.

You don't see many body color wheels (other than black or silver). Sterling Gray wheels would be unique. Otherwise, I'd go black.

Really like your pickup. Maybe this would work for OP:

Could do the pockets black and leave the rest silver or paint it sterling grey.

I'd go with a sterling grey rim, with black accents in the centers of each spoke. Or vise versa on the color pattern.. that's just my thoughts. Another one would be to tape off or sand off after, the outter edge of the spoke when painting it black.. give you the black with aluminum/machined look for a low cost.

I considered doing the opposite. Leaving the pockets silver. Might look pretty cool.

Both of you guys have a good idea there..He could plasti-dip then peel it off if he didn't like it. Once decided then could go the powdercoat route to make it permanent
