Need exhaust opinions for my 2013 FX4 5.0

Thanks koolponycar. I might look into that!
Right now I'm on the fence between buying the solo performance catback or cutting my stock exhaust and welding a borla muffler on

Installing Borla Atak this weekend on my 5.0 F150. Yes it is expensive compared to others, but there are reasons when you look at grades of stainless that components are made of in this system versus others. Is it overkill, maybe, but in the end the sound is awesome on Borla systems and this will be my 3rd system. I've had S-type on a 2002 Mustang GT, Atak on 2011 5.0 Mustang, and soon to on my 2013 FX4.
My truck has the appearance package, so my only downside is I have no chrome, so I'm going to dip the tips with black for now and see how I like. If I like them black, I may look at ceramic coating the tips for long term. Just can't bring myself to spray pain those Borla tips but think the chrome will look out of place on my truck.

For a catback, ideally if I could get the ATAK catback setup with the S type muffler I would do it in a heartbeat.
I agree with you on the black tip. I have the appearance package on my truck as well and I would rather a black tip vs a chrome one but just pairing the tip wouldn't look that good from the view of someone behind you because you will be able to see stainless silver piping going under the truck

You'll love it and grin ear to ear each time you drive it. The only issue I have is how much more gas I use since I have the urge to hear it often. I live in southern Canada and commonly have snow falls similar to that of New York or Chicago and salted roads for 6 months of the year means that the cheaper grades of stainless steel won't go the long haul.
I did my research and listened to other manufactures and Roush would be my 2nd choice but they don't use 302 stainless beyond the muffler and tips I'll be going with Borla for future vehicles if it's available as well. You get what you pay for IMO.

I have a 2013 f150 Screw 5.0L and I had my local shop take the stock muffler and resonator off and instead of using a y pipe installed a flowmaster 10 series 3" in and dual 3" out and since im not a fan of pipes showing I had them drop it right over the rear axle and it sounds perfect. Same Gibson sound alot cheaper. Shop charged me 180 to do everything including parts

I think someone asked before and no you can't but all you need is a lil extra pipe get a shop that does stainless to finish it up... But on another hand... This morning I did a muffler delete with 3" pipe and left my resonator and the sound is awesome... No drone at cruise speeds very lil noise inside under throttle but really opens up under full throttle...

XR-1
The s-type muffler order only comes in 2.5" in and out, but will work. Another muffler a lot of guys seem to like that comes in 3" in and out is the XR1 by Borla. I think that may be a multi-core muffler not sure without checking their website. I actually narrowed my choices down to what your looking at, the Solo and Borla. Good luck with your choice and let us know what you go with.
