Default Need Better Soundsystem, any Suggestions?

Hey all, loving my 2012 F150 Screw Ecoboost!

But I've got a minor complaint. The audio.....

I have the standard (I'm guessing) audio setup with SYNC. Two tweeters in the pillars, two door speakers, and two rear door speakers.

It just doesn't pack the punch that I think it should, on all levels. Highs/Mids/lows are just lackluster to say the least. I'm pretty familiar with most audio setups and more than capable of upgrades.

So my question is, what was your first audio upgrade. I was thinking of just replacing the speakers alone to something upgraded, but wanted to know ifyou guys had any past experience that really heightened your audio senses in your SuperCrews?

I may add a small sub down the road, but I'm not into the noise blasting bass that I used to be. Just want something that will perform a bit better.

$450 can get you the complete kicker system. A vendor on here has them for that price. And provides very good customer service

I changed out all the stock speakers in my 2011 with kicker speakers, bought a 350 watt amplified Bazooka tube and that did the trick. I kept the amp on the tube at only 1/4 of the way up and it rocked both inside and outside.

Word of advise. Have a pro install it for you, and also have them leave you some 7' of slack on the cords. At the beach, it kicked butt! Pulled that tube out and rocked it! Hence the 7' slack.. lol

I replaced the four door speakers with better ones (to get me the treble I was looking for mostly). MUCH CLEARER! Then I added an amp with a 10 inch sub in a standard box with a control for the bass near my steering wheel. For me the best sound comes from turning the factory base all the way down, the treble all the way up, and adjusting the bass from the subwoofer to get the bass you want. It really does sound amazing now.

I just threw in some 682.11CF infinity kappa speakers in all four doors last month, the sound quality didn't seem like a huge difference at first.

Now they sound incredible, probably because they were new at first. I will be adding a JL sub and Amps pretty soon though.

Going this route will definitely out-budget the Ford Oem Kicker upgrade, but in the long run I believe it will be worth it.
