Need Advice for Painting Factory Plastic Running Boards
I took my factory plastic running boards off a few weeks ago and my wife has complained every single time she's ridden with me since. I have a custom bumper on the front and rear of my truck and it was sprayed with black bedliner.
I would like to spray my plastic running boards with some bedliner and then reinstall them but I don't have much experience with painting plastic. What process do you guys recommend for me to achieve the best results? Should I spray with some primer and then spay bedliner? What products do you recommend too?
Thanks!

I would contact the manufacturer of whatever product you're going to use and see what they suggest. Im assuming you would need to scuff them good, but painting you would use an adhesion promoter, not sure if you would need something like that for a bedliner product or not.

I just was reading a thread about someone just did thiers with the bed liner stuff. Might want to do a search and post up in there or contact the OP. I looked really good, I am considering doing it to mine.
I don't think you would have to scuff them up to get the bed liner to stick to them. They just spray in the bed liner. Probably just have to clean them well.

About 2 months ago it was raining one day and I bout slipped and busted my **** for the umpteenth time in the 4yrs I've owned my truck. I have the OEM plastic 6" running boards. $200 later and LineX sprayed them and no more slippage. I just got the normal LineX black coating...no extra gloss or anything. Looks like it does on a pickup bed and makes the truck look better too. Well worth the cost of an ER copay to have it done. I was told that they scuff the plastic up like normal but apply an adhesion promoter before spraying the bedliner. Not sure if they do that for everything and I was fed a line of crap or what but they turned out great so I'm happy!
