I bought my truck from Fairway the first of the year. I shopped all the big dealers in the tri state area and nobody could touch Fairways price. They didn't have the truck I wanted so they dealer traded for me.

I bought my truck from an OHIO dealer and drove my mazda there and traded it in and drove my truck back. My only expense was a hotel stay and gas. Small potatoes when saving thousands of dollars.

I had the same issue of dealers in CT not even budging on the price a little. In my opinion its a no brainer to drive to save thousands of dollars and get the truck you want for the right price. I would have driven twice the distance for the amount of money I saved. Even a plane ticket is worth it.

I did this in 2010,
Local dealers were $3,500 off of what I could get it for in Maryland (350 mile drive). So I rented a car one way ($150) bought my truck and drove it back. Let me tell you, that drive was very satisfying. Kinda funny that now the local dealers have all switched to "No Haggle" Pricing and are about $1500 off of what Fairway and others are offering now.

Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. I asked for "Out The Door" pricing, because most dealers don't include destination and delivery on their internet pricing, but the local dealers do. When I was price comparing I used MSRP (after the package discounts on the window sticker) vs OTD.
