You need a line level to get rid of the factory unit signal that turns down as you turn the volume up. Sounds so much better when you do

Default Subwoofer question

Forgive me if I am showing my naivety but why can't owners with Sony subs just wire them up to the front door speakers to avoid the bass roll off issue? Also, can the Sony amp just be replaced with a more powerful amp? I realize that an 8" sub can only do so much, but the weak bass at higher volumes is driving me crazy.

This is my first post and I really love this forum. I'm the proud owner of a 2013 EcoBoost Platinum Supercrew in Ingot Silver...with the Sony sound system. Thanks.

Put two JL TW3 10 inch subs with a JL HD750 running both in a custom box. Originally started off with a single 10 and a JL XD600 but just didn't have the pop. Put a couple of these under your back seat and I don't think you will be disappointed. The single was a little bit underwhelming but double the cone area and these hit harder then my old audiobahn 12s and the clarity is second to none.

I have the factory Ford Kicker subwoofer system in my 14 F-150. For a "factory" subwoofer/amp it works OK. But you know, OK, is not good enough. I am thinking I would like to just change out the factory amp and replace it with more powerful amp. Has anyone figured out what wires going into the factory amp are the input signal wires? IE...... L+ L- and R+ and R-.

Thanks in Advanced

Do I need to get a new head unit when I out new subs in or will the factory work? I have 2 10inch Kenwood and a 1000w amp and I just need to get a box to make them fit. But just wanted to know if I could just plug them in and play?
