Nav Placement Is Off

You can call it BS all you want but if you have larger than stock tires. The tires are your issue 100% the dead reckoning system is over riding the NAV system which is the issue. The system for some reason from the factory uses the dead reckoning system first and the GPS second for positioning, cant tell you why to save my life but disconnecting your neg side of the battery for an hour or two, hook back up and it will work. I have 4 friends including myself that had this issue and after disconnecting the battery its has worked flawlessly ever since!
We even went as far as finding the person that Ford credits the Dead Reckoning system to, Brian Petersen, he actually holds the patents for it. We got in touch with the lady that is his secretary and she had us write a email and she said she would forward it to him. Well it never got to him, she later called our dealership. Then the dealership called us and said "Why did you write a complaint about us not fixing your NAV, we told you its cause of your tires, until you go back to stock tires its not our issue". The email we sent was never meant to be a complaint. It was to find out more about the dead reckoning system and to see if there was a way to have it bypassed or triggered as the second form of NAV info.
EDIT: Just seeing that you did that and got it fixed, im glad you did. Like yourself me and my friends were pissed after spending 50K on a truck that the NAV doesnt work. One friend brought his truck to Ford 3 times, they did 3 different TSBs and never fixed the issue. We found the fix when installing our Airraid Intakes, the directions said to disconnect the battery before installing. After installing the intake and reconnecting the battery we noticed that out GPS was fixed! Crazy, Ford couldnt ever figure that out.

My NAV has always been slightly off even when I had stock tires on the stupid truck. It's not as bad the OP's but usually when I'm driving on I90 is shows me on the service road or off in the rhubarb, never on the road. It only seems to happen on I90 though.

The tire size does, for whatever reason screw with it, but it shouldn't be that aggressive. I have also been told tuners, mainly bully dog, can have a negative effect on it as well. My SCT is fine with it but I also encountered the same issue when I upped my tires. Usually a battery pull will get the gremlins out of the system and if not, do a master reset. If it continues to be off you might need a new chip.

Its beginning to sound like MS Windows....have a problem....just disconnect the battery for 10 min & then reconnect
Maybe they will build in a switch so it will be easier to do that

I just went from Michigan to Alabama and back last week. 2100 miles total. I am totally stock as far as wheels and tires plus no tune. We were on our way home (don't remember where) and all of a sudden my nav beeps and it shows us on the road next to the highway. We didn't touch anything. I redid the route and it still showed us off the highway. About 50 miles later it beeped again and it was right again.
My question about the actual tire issue is why wouldn't it just show you either further down the road you are on or not as far as you really are? It shouldn't show you off the road you are on. Just a thought.

Mine does the same thing, before and after new tires.. Has me driving through peoples yards at times. Will have to try the neg battery trick this weekend. Will I have to reset everything after that, radio, bluetooth, etc???
