Default Add a leaf or 3inch Block

New member here but long time follower. My fantastic girlfriend is getting me some new wheels for my B-day (prob 18x9 XD monsters 18offset 5.71 backspacing) more than likely putting some 295 65 18 dura tracs on them...thinking about some open country 285 70 18's...Thoughts there....more onroad than offroad..don't jump on me i'm not asking if they will fit, i've read enough of those posts lmao

Anyways, going to put 5100's on all four corners with the front at the highest setting. I want to put a little rake back in her for towing and i've heard it helps the ride with the 5100's on the highest setting (reduces the clicking that some hear). Would you guys recommend adding a leaf or a 3inch block and why.

PS i've spent days reading over this forum to figure out the back spacing/offset/tire size...what a pain in the *** that was lol

Thank you in advance

I chose the add a leaf because I wanted the lift and added load capacity.

I put a 6" lift in mine and went with the AAL just so it didn't sag. it also came with a bigger replacement block, tried to put the blocks together but the new U-Bolts werent long enough so just went with the AAL and replacement block (3"). I recommend the AAL because it makes the rear sit a litle higher due to a significant compnent in the suspension vs a block. It rides better and can handle more weight. I have seen lifted trucks that dont have the AAL and they look ridiculous with the headlights shining way up in the air. I think the 5100s and an AAL should make it look awesome. Obviously I vote AAL

Thanks for the input ragtop...I've heard that the AAL will help with heavier loads..don't have the money for a 4 or 6 inch lift right now so I'm looking for guys who have installed a level kit with either the AAL or the 3inch blocks and what they think..I know the blocks are harmful with 1 ton trucks that carry heavy loads..

From all the hours I've spent on here :-) with the bilsteins at max height and the 3inch blocks it will add about a half inch rake..with a heavier load..like my motor cycle wouldnt the half inch accommodate the heavier height?

http://www.activesuspension.com/home.html

will add 1 to 1.5" to the rear without being as harsh as an AAL. Better for towing too. North Carolina company

So mello it's about the same as the 3 inch blocks in terms of added height huh...where in NC are they located? My folks live in Boone NC.
