My MBRP exhaust review...
I finally put my new exhaust on. MBRP S5244409 stainless steel single side outlet (like original). With chrome tip. It's for my 13FX4 6.5 bed 6.2 engine. First off, the instructions stink!! Your best hope is to just look at the picture of the whole system then go from there. When installed correctly, the MBRP that's stamped in the resonator is upside down! Wtf? Why would they do that?? Anyway, I had to cut 7" off the intermediate pipe for my configuration. After that, it all fit together pretty well, you just really need to crank down on the band clamps to keep it all secure. It's all tucked in above the bottom of the frame, so it's totally hidden from view except for tailpipe & tip.
Firing it up for the first time makes a great sound! A very nice deep tone rumble that is very pleasing. Driving is very nice also, you can hear it all the time but it's not too loud, it's doesn't drown out the stereo or any conversation with windows either up or down. I briefly took it out on interstate, no drone whatsoever but I wonder about when towing... Haven't driven it enough to check for any MPG improvement but I'll post info when I get it. All in all a very nice system especially if you don't want your truck too loud but need some sound. Total install time was about an hour and a half, by myself, on garage floor. Hope this helps anyone considering this system.

I haven't tried that yet but it HAS to be better than the terrible hissing sound I had from the restricted factory exhaust!! It sounded like an air hose!

I wouldn't say it's better, you know all the sounds you've been reading about (being compared to a civic 4 banger) they are all true!
But like you, I like the startup sound a lot and the normal driving is great

Will do, but it may be a month or so before I tow again.... I'll let you know. By the way it sounds, I don't think there will be a problem with a drone, but we'll see.

Just curious what the part # was for this system. My truck on order is the same configuration as yours and havent found alot of options out there due to the 157" wheelbase and 6.2. Thanks

S5244409 is the MBRP part number, I ordered it through Auto Anything & got 15% off for being a first time customer. I called MBRP myself before ordering to get some info. This system has a resonator and muffler supposedly to eliminate any drone. So far so good. The part number listed will fit any bed size, even 8' the difference will be cutting off part of the intermediate pipe. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
