That's the price of mandated regulation. This is where I get my sensors if I can't find them on Fleabay.

If I'm not mistaken a tire shop cannot take out or delete TPMS per Federal regulation but they are not required with aftermarket wheels.

If your spare wheels did not come on your truck you can have them install standard valves without tpms for near pennies.

Honestly Comp, I'm on the golf course and checking it out quickly while we're waiting, between holes.

The parts stores charge about $50 each for the VDO TPMS sensors. There are cheaper options out there, but that gives you a reference point.

Sorry for the late, erratic responses. I think I was on the verge of heat stroke.
So the prices are what I thought, and my neighbor is just being a selfish idiot.

We were only talking about buying tires, to keep the neighborhood peace.
It would be the same, if he hired someone else instead of me. It's how it worked in our little neighborhood.
Now that he's dicking me around....or maybe, he's just not that smart.
Either way, there's going to be some glaring looks from across the street, pretty soon. Oh well....

Two issues here. First, have a rule. Don't do business with family or friends. It never ends well. Second, do your own research, always verify what a "salesman" tells you.

After 23 years in business. The family and friends rule is business 101. That's for damn sure!
There are exceptions to rule tho. Having him across the street, (it's a tiny little shop. Grandfathered in) has been invaluable when it came to having a nail plugged. Or just last week, a 3/8" bolt that somehow punctured my tire.
That's how this conversation, got started, and why I'm doing my research.
