Looks great. I'm thinking of a set but just wonder how they will work with the tonneau cover. Will it let water in or are they far enough away?

Did you buy the router too or just the bit?

I didn't have a router, so I just added it to my cart during checkout. I figured I probably would use it down the road for something else. I almost picked up the Dewalt router locally at Farm & Fleet for $129, but the $99 Makita got the nod. I'm guessing if you already have a router, any make or model will work. The trick is with the custom bit. They stacked several rollers on the end to allow easy tracking of the pocket below the plastic. It's a 'flush' type bit.

Couple of questions:

1. This is part, correct for short bed F-150s?

http://www.bullringusa.com/shop/bull...file-tie-down/

2. If you don't buy the router or the pocket router, is there another way to install it?

Thanks!

They sit flush to the top when the ring is 'down', so that wouldn't be a problem. I suppose it would depend on how far your cover extends over the bed rails on each side?

I don't have one(need one thou) but I've heard mixed reviews on makita stuff so Idk lol good thing about that one is it allows other bits so it'll work for other projects.

That is the exact part, correct! They just became available last week. Follow Bull Ring's installation videos to get all the correct measurements. Their videos are easy to follow and straight to the point.

The router is a convenience thing, for a perfect clean edge as you saw in my pics. You can attempt to 'trim' the plastic out without one, but it will take a lot longer and it will look a little rough depending on your skill level.

Here's another view of where I set the depth for the custom bit on the router. You should be able to see it clearly on this pic.
