i said "BASIC". I guess we can get into deltaV and deltaT formulas and really figure it out, but without knowing how far the vehicle traveled after impact, or the rigidity of the supposed hit object (to determine decelration of the striking vehicle), we can't really figure it out to an exact.

To your original post- I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing and I thinks it's awesome how much these thugs can handle. Like I said earlier- I remember a time when towing capability was determined by when your axle hit the bump stop.
