But It has really grown on me, especially after hooking up to loads I normally used a 2500HD duramax for, its not as good, but for a 1/2 ton im very impressed, and the day to day comfort is night and day from the duramax which rides like a garbage truck. Still sluggish from a light (same feel whether I push the peddle 10% or 100%) But get it above 10 mph and it takes off pretty well. I am very hard to impress, and I think the ecoboost is slow, but I also thought my vette was slow when it was stock.

I agree with you but you need a tuner on that truck to wake it up.

13.2 is ALL you got? I'd be jumping for joy if mine ever dropped below 16.8L/100KM...

Having towed with a new ford 6.7 diesel I can almost guarantee that the ecoboost won't hold a candle to it towing. Empty, ya, the eco will win every time.

FYI, that 06 dmax is rated 360/600 I believe in hp/tq. Our eco's are what? 360/450? That 150ftlbs isn't going to mean much when you tack on the additional 1000lbs a dmax weighs (assuming crew cab short bed 4wd) over an eco.

Now I haven't towed with my eco, but I've towed with an 01 cummins, an 04 dmax, and a 2011 psd, and I can tell you that I don't care what you put behind either of those engines, it's going to get towed up any hill at whatever speed you decide you want. I'm sure the eco is a great towing engine but it's going to be a long hard road before I'm convinced that it'll ever out tow a diesel.

He pitting a 425ft/lb gasser with 3.73 gears against a 570ft/lbs LLY with pribabbly 3:10 gears. ( a lot of the sbs had higher gearing). So they are probably pretty well matched.

Also the LLY is a leftover 05 motor the stuffed in job 1 06 trucks the LBZ is the motor makin 600 ft/lbs.

So it only proves that GM is 8 yrs almost a full decade ahead of ford in technology and power. LOL.

When did the dmax have a 3.10 rear gear option? Must be a very rare thing.

I missed the part where the guy said he had an LLY. I was assuming LBZ. Yes, the LLY is a weaker engine yet still.

And how does that prove that chevy is 8 full years ahead of ford in technology and power?

Maybe 3.31. Can't remember but it was standard and high for mileage It wasn't the 3.75 that was offered on the 3500 drw standard

It proves it wasn't a new dmax but 8 yo technology. And it was a joke. Learn how to take one

Your truck is fine. You do realize that gas mileage is the second most commonly lied about measurement right?
