My Borla Install
Order was shipped 2 days ago and arrived at 9:30am this morning, well packaged. Not bad for shipping from Ohio to Ontario.

Hey, sweet deal, buy a Reeeeeeeeally expensive hat... and get a free exhaust system!! Great new promo from Borla!!
First thing I noticed the hangers are by the tips. Someone was trying to tell another member, "Platinum_Sean" when he mentioned this was how his arrived,.....that this was an old system... BS on that concept!

Out with the old.... well it's still pretty new... but..
Little side by side stock vs Borla 140291 comparison.

Definitely have to paint the crossover pipe, and no better time than before you install it. Rub down with lacquer thinner and scuffed up with a scotch brite pad, followed by several coats of flat black BBQ paint

The one problem myself and others have mentioned, is that the Borla pipe does not mate well to the stock front pipe shown here

I ended up having to fabricate a steel strap which I coated in copper heat silicon and then wrapped it around the pipe. Then I had a SS strap clamp which I tightened around the strap. Maybe not pretty, but it fixed the massive exhaust leak situation.

Pretty happy with the way the tips slightly flair and are symmetrical in all ways.

they are neatly tucked in under the bumper.

They sound just fine, and although there's big time competition in my garage for the ULTIMATE "Sound Crown"... it's all good!!

The sound is not to loud, not to quiet... For me, I'd say it's just right!!

i would love to hear how yours sounds since i dont live to far from you. im on the border between getting an exhaust. i had one on my last tundra and it was a little loud for me especially at highway speeds.
also, that gt3 is gorgeous. i have a soft spot for VAG cars. i have a modified mk5 that is just a blast to drive

Anytime you want to hear it, not a problem, I'm sure we can arrange something off-line. I was into the city yesterday and coming home last night I found there's definitely a slight rumble at 1800-2000 rpm or 115-120km/hr. The Platinum is definitely not "vault quiet" anymore with this mod, but that's not a bad thing in my world!! The GT3 is anything but subtle, especially the way it's set up!! If I feel a need for a subtle, quiet cocoon-like driving experience, we use my wife's RX350

LOL, must be something in the VAG DNA, couple of my PCA buddy's in Ottawa have bought GTI's in the last year as city/winter cars, and are having a blast with them!!
ps... just as Sean mentions.. I've found my MPG.. L/100km (for my Canuckian bros) has taken a hit only because and until the novelty wears off.... I'm stepping a little harder into it,..... just to hear the cool new sounds..
