My 2011 with 285,000 miles
So this was a work truck until I bought it from my employer the other day. We bought it new in 2011 and ran it hard ever since, it's spent it's entire life in WI and Upper MI. I ended up with the truck because the A/C idler pulley decided to break out of the front cover leaving a 1.5" hole and that was the final nail in the coffin, they were going to send it to the scrap yard as it's not worth putting the $1k (dealership serviced) into. So being management I was able to buy it for a good price......
Then came the $250 in parts. New front cover, which has added gussets around the A/C idler pulley.... New timing chain guides, new tensioners, new chains, new belts, pulley, and crank seal.
Do your maintenance and your 5.0 can look like this inside at 285,000 miles as well..
The mileage as of today.
The carnage..
The new and improved version..
Let the games begin.
Clean as a whistle.
Shiny..
Now hopefully it will see another 285,000 miles.

Here's the rest of the truck. It's seen a lot of highway and lots of pits and quarries. It also helps we have a wash bay here at the shop I manage so everyone keeps the salt off and their equipment clean.
I believe we are also the largest Ali Arc customer in the country, I'm still not sold on them to minimize damage from deer. We average 10 deer hits a year.
We also run weathertech floor mats in everything so that helps. I have a set of custom made seat covers as well which are a heavy codura (better than the carhartt factory ones) which helps keep the dirt, mud, sand, and asphalt off the seats.

Ford learned a lot and took notes of many of the issues of the 4.6 and 5.4 3V engines. Especially with the oiling system. You don't see many serious issues with the 5.0 in really any of the platforms it is in. (Except maybe the early 2011 mustangs and the #8 cylinder issues) Plus they really tested the heck out of those motors before releasing them. The endurance test videos of the 5.0s are nothing short of torture.
