Default My 14 xlt AC review

I have read many post about how the ac in there trucks don't work that good. So today on my way home from a 1 1/2 hr trip. I got my vent thermometer out to check my temperature because I was getting cold with it on. I did have a short sleeve shirt on too. With mine set at max temp and middle fan speed. It was showing about 42 degrees. Outside temp was showing about 92 degrees and kinda humid as well. Tx heat close to Dallas area. Since I own the truck for 2 yrs. I don't have any complaints about my AC. On side note. I did calibrate my thermometer last year when I first bought it. It a manual type as well.

If you don't have the MFT screen I don't think your truck suffers from a "warm" AC problem. I think, THINK, it's specific to MFT systems.

I have the MFT and my 2014 AC will freeze you out. I haven't checked the temp, but it's plenty cold enough. I haven't had the truck long, but it's been hot (85-95) here.

I dont have an MFT and my ac wouldnt drop below 48 or so. I did the 'resistor hack' and its gets down to 42 degrees constantly (all temps via my dash thermometer pen)

This is subjective. I know people who feel cold in a house set to 79, meanwhile I'm sweating.

Vent temps are important in the conversation of AC stuff.

Fyi. I prefer to keep my house around 70 or so. I enjoy being cold and not hot.

My 14 has awful AC I think. I've insulated the lines under the hood and it cycles between 48-52. Takes forever to cool the cab. I've never seen condensation on the ground. My wife's 15 Expedition is a meat locker. Haven't checked the vent temps but it is very cold. Max will cool it fast. It also leaves puddles on the ground. Same day- same environment.
Dealer checked my truck and said it was in spec. It may be but having to run max AC just to try and keep it cool is a bummer.
Only real complaint I have.

Why is that a bummer? As stated, max is the best way to cool your vehicle. Why is running it off of max a better idea to you?

I need to run at max as well. Yes it is a bummer for meas well. Today it was 115 degrees and this would be a day when max ac should be used, not at 95. My 2011 XLT usually gets comfortable after a minimum 20 minutes.
