MFORDFX4, Did you ever get you leak issue resolved?

I'm having a similar issue. Just bought me a Certified 2012 F150 FX4. It rained pretty hard last night here in San Antonio TX I noticed a leak by the passenger side grab handle but it only started leaking after I started driving.

The short answer is, I think so...

I took it in 3 times and I think they finally got it fixed. The first time as stated in my original post, it was leaking in the front passengers side and rear passengers side. They replaced the satellite antenna seal and that stopped it from leaking into the front passengers side (so that may be your problem) but it still leaked into the rear passengers side only when the truck was parked on an incline in heavy rain.

Finally they fixed/redirected the drain hose from the sunroof and so far it has not leaked in the rear or the front, so I think they got it.

Thanks again to crystal from ford service for catching this thread. The dealership took care of it, gave me a loaner, and was very helpful. Corporate Ford also followed up with me and the dealership several times. It sucks to have problems especially with a brand new vehicle, but they stood behind the warranty, identified the problem (hopefully lol), and fixed the problem. So far everything else is great with the truck and I'm loving it! That's really all I can ask for.

Good luck.

Definitely bring this to the attention of your dealership so they can assist, Taqito. Let us know how things go after you've had your appointment.

Default My means of locating the leak.

This may help all of you with unresolved water leaks on you f150's. The dealership I used started with the 3rd brake light, which did not remedy the leak, and were not coming up with any other ideas. I use this means to locate process instrumentaion leaks at work, and it worked very well. I started by pressuring up the cab of the truck ( truck running, ac blower on high but not recirculation mode, and closed up all of the doors. Next I sprayed down all of the windows, doors, brake light, any place that had a seal around it that was entering the cab with a soapy water solution. In my case it was the back window, top corner, passwenger side of the truck. The leak created mass amounts of bubbles any place a leak was present. Hope this helps. I showed this to the dealer and they repaired the back glass seal.

I think they may have used that method because my AC was on full blast when I got it back. Then again, they may have just been hot while working on the truck...

Interesting...so you can see bubbles forming on the outside of truck along any type of seal if a leak is present? Does the cab pressurize rather quickly or do you wait a few minutes?

That's how they find leaks in motor home and campers, put a fan in a window and pressurized the inside, soap up all seals and windows etc. outside and you would be amazed the leaks you can find.

Mine has been leaking for months... Took it to my local dealer and they said the "LED" lights I installed burn "HOTTER" then the regular bulbs and it ruined the seal so NOT COVERED under warranty....

I informed the service advisor his Tech knows jack **** about how LED lights work and have not been back BUT my leak persist... Tried to buy a new seal BUT it is not available separately, must buy a complete light assembly for $120...what is FORD thinking about ? makes NO sense.... I'm ready to trade this truck in.....

Go spend a few bucks on a tube of silicon and solve the problem yourself. Seems to me its worth the 3 bucks to save yourself the aggravation of dealing with a completely incompetent and ignorant dealer.
