That depends on what kind of diff that is in them. Before I put Detroit Lockers in my Jeep that I bought used, it couldn't even go through wet grass with it's open diffs. Why they made Jeeps with open diffs for years and even to this day is beyond me. If I got one new today, it would definitely be a Rubicon model that comes standard with lockers front and rear.

Absolutely. My brother just traded his silverado in on a wrangler. No lockers with a POS 3.08(?) gearing. Wouldn't pull the hat off your head let alone itself out of a bind. No payload at all with even less towing ability, can't even pack it up for a weekend excursion.

Why would anyone use a new truck to go off roading when it has a payment book and has to get you to work on Monday?

Buy an old Jeep and have fun!

if u dont have and cant afford a winch, get a 2+ ton comealong to go with your tow straps and maybe a sledge hammer and 2 ft iron bar to hammer in ground as anchor for comealong if no trees or rocks are nearby

First and Most Important things you need are good Recovery Points front and rear. Without those and a tow strap, you shouldn't be offroading.

Next thing is Protection. Heavy Duty Skid Plates (engine/transfercase/transmission/fuel tank) and Rock Rails/Sliders.

Next step is Tires and Lift...obvious reasons.

These three things will get you most places with a new truck...and a good spotter

A winch to pull you or someone else out and to pull all kinds of stuff when you need it.
This is no problem for 5.0 owners to install hidden with a $200 kit from Rough Country.
For you Eco Boosters you will have to wait for a 5.0 to come by and pull you out.

There are photos floating around of a "one of", offroad, eco boost truck at a SEMA show with a repositioned intercooler and a hidden winch, but inquiries by me to the company have gone unanswered concerning the cost of the new intercooler and kit to move it.
