Mud Flaps, Yes/No
 

Hello everyone.

I have a recently purchased a 2014 FX4 and was just noticing the other day that my exhaust is getting caked in dirt and grime.

My question is how do you all feel about mud flaps and what are some good brands. I know people had to mod based on wheel/tire size but in general how do you feel about over all appearance as well as function?

I tried searching but every time I search I get an error. Please excuse me if this has already been discussed.

I absolutely can't stand mud flaps on trucks... Sorry just my opinion.. Just don't like the way they look.

Weather Tech no drill. Easy install. They may not look good, but they work. Personally they don't bother me, and they keep the crap off your truck.

Love my WeatherTech mud flaps. Installation is a breeze. They fit really well and look great too. They may not keep everything perfectly clean, but I mainly got them to help minimize damage from all the gravel roads I drive on. They work for me though.

Opted for the Ford Custom Accessories splash guards - part # 6L3Z-16A550-BA (set - includes front and rear).

• rears - no-drill installation.
  .
• fronts - made it a no-drill installation by using 3M™ double-sided attachment tape. *note: normal is a drill installation - 2 holes per side into the wheel well flares.

Have the same on mine and they look fine imo. If you don't care if the kick panels get beat to hell then don't put them on. Roads around here I'd be repainting that area every couple of years if I didn't have them.

As far as appearance goes, I don't like mud flaps.
But functionally they are good. They keep the sides of the truck cleaner.

Like everyone says, don't really like the look but they do keep most of the mud and rocks off the truck. I have the Husky flaps but if I were to do it over, I would go with Weathertech flaps. To keep the crud off the exhaust you'll have to go with universal flaps and mount them low.

Mud flats are a must. Specially if you drive in areas were there's sand/rocks/snow/anything but a perfectly clear road as a courtesy to fellow drivers out there.

When I'm on my bike or in the wife's Challenger - I can't stand ignorant truck drivers who drive without mud flaps and cut lanes in front of you showering your vehicle with debris which can damage your windshield, paint, headlights.
