why 05-09? What year is your truck? I have a 10 was thinking the intake, TB, possibly heads of a 10 or up GT. I'm pretty sure all the new 4.6 3V are pi.

My trucks an 09. Ive got the 3v 4.6 like the mustangs that I had prior to the truck (05 and 08). By looking at the motor the only thing I see visually different is the intake and the throttle body.

Whats pi??

PI= power improved, it was the 2v heads that came out in '99, they had smaller combustion chambers than previous heads giving higher compression, they also used a different intake

So are the '99 2v 4.6s pretty close to the 2v 4.6 motors in the new f150s?

'99 4.6 PI motor was 260hp and 300tq at the flywheel. I'd have to dig up the dyno sheets, but it wasn't too hard to get close to those numbers at the rear wheels with a few bolt ons. I had a 99 GT with off road X pipe, Borla cat back, under drive pullies, K&N in the stock airbox with the silencer tube cut down and was getting around 255hp at the wheels I believe. Stock engines were usually about 230ish if I'm not mistaken, but I never got a baseline on the car.
