MPT Performance Customer Service
I called MPT today to ask a couple questions about their tunes and which one would they would recommend. I told them I had already purchased it, but hadn't sent in the tune form. I don't remember who I was speaking to, but I was very unimpressed with the service I received. Seemed like when I would ask a specific question, I would receive a generic answer. At first, they acted as if they had no idea what I was talking about.....like it was their first day on the job. I didn't get the friendly, informative experience like others post about. It's crazy when you get better answers from other forum members as opposed to the guys building the tunes.
I'm wondering if I should just ask for a refund and purchase from someone else. It wasn't as if I was keeping them on the phone for an hour. Conversation was at most 3 mins. Is it possible that I just caught them at a bad time? I. Worried that if I need tweaks made after I get the tune, that there won't be helpful service.
What's your recommendation? Not trying to start a debate battle, just looking for advice.

I like their tunes (mpt) but didn't feel like I was getting a truly "custom" tune. One revision and they were pretty much done.
I also run 5 star and have had an awesome experience working with Jacob, it's like I really have my own personal tuner.
His new performance tunes are a whole different beast compared to their old tunes.
My 91 performance tune from 5 star now out performs my 91 race tune from mpt.
I've also heard great things about unleashed it just takes more time, data logging and revisions to get there, but he is quick on the revisions.

I currently have 5star, but when I bought those tunes, they didn't have a dedicated performance only tune. I my have to look at them and Unleashed. I'm just scared that if customer service is this bad now, how would I ever get them to tweak a tune if it didn't run right?

Received an email from J.R. today after emailing about getting a refund. He apologized and offered to make it right if I wanted to use them, or gave me the option of a refund. I called him to talk things over and hopefully get the questions answered that I tried to yesterday. Experience today was much better and he took some time explain options and recommendations for tuning. He also advised the tune is not locked, so once I receive it, if there is things I don't like, they will tweak it to my liking.
Based on our conversation, I feel like their Performance Street will be my best bet. Sometimes I like to drive 'normal', and not use all the HP the truck has, and am afraid the Race shifting may be too jerky. Apparently on the 6.2 tune, the tow/haul button operates like stock. On the 5.0 tune, it will change the shifting back to stock-like feel. Now, I've just got to decide on the octane. Around here, we have 87,89, and 93. J.R. said the difference would be noticeable, but not sure I want to pay an additional $0.40/gallon for the 93.
Any advice or opinions? So far MPT is giving me a better vibe for customer service, and time will tell after I get the tune if any tweaks are needed and how they respond to that. I'm a fair guy and wanted to give them a fair shake before just writing them off. But most importantly, I wanted to update this thread and let everyone know how things have turned out. No one needs negative reviews if they don't deserve them.

I just bought some MPT tunes last week to compare them to my 5*. They have changed the tune strategies and no longer offer a "street" strategy or an 89 octane version. I ordered 87/89 perf street and got 87 PRX. I checked their website and within the weekend between ordering and receiving, they changed the descriptions.

Also, just my opinion and not a recommendation, but I switched back to 5* 89 perf-tow because I found it more drivable. MPT is very aggressive and goes like stink, but it felt like some of the smoothness and finesse was sacrificed for it.
