Motor Trend truck of the year

Inebriated 4 ur safety
It sure would be nice if all test were standardized. On the gov. website the F150 is only 3 star on frontal crash and the Ram is 4. iihs has them both rated "g" for good. The gov. site doesn't test roof strength but says the Ram is less likely to roll over. Which trim level? what tires? etc. Makes you wonder what and how they tested. Do we believe the government or the insurance folks or neither.
Select print full report for this vehicle and it will break down the numbers.
BTW, IIHS is who your insurance company goes by on how much to charge on their rates per vehicle. The worse the rating is, the more you pay.

Yea, but unless you put an Eco badge on the back of your truck they won't know if it was the 3.5l or the 6.2l that is in front of them. I hear the cab it so quite they can't hear what just beat them.

Here's a link to the Ram towing and payload charts. Lowest I see is just over 1,000 lbs, for a 4x4 Crewmax.
Pitiful.

Man, you guys sure get your panties in a wad over what everyone feels to be a "worthless magazine award".
Having had both recently (currently in the Ram), they are pretty damn close, if not dead even.
The 8 speed is so far and beyond better than my epileptic 6 speed my F150 had that there is no comparison. It is a ZF transmission. The hemi will pull circles around my 5.4. Maybe not an Ecoboost, but... if anyone pays attention to the online info, if I am not mistaken it was even with the EB on some Ike test. Fuel economy on both with trailer is about even. I can hardly wait to latch up to my trailer with this combo. The two things I avoided- the air suspension and ecodiesel for the EXACT same reason I avoided the ecoboost and still do.
My hand was forced to the Ram by Ford. And you know what? I am not totally disappointed by that. My only options were a 6.2l or Hemi. Ram pricing was way more aggressive with almost identical sticker prices and Ford service has been lackluster at best.
You guys need to take a break from going on the defense so quickly and see that competition like this is good for ALL brands. It leads to better products all around.
FWIW- my F150 after options were added had only 20lbs payload over the Ram and was significantly heavier. I am not brand loyal, I think both trucks are awesome and would be happy with either. Still miss my Ford from time to time and would buy another in a heartbeat if the price was right for the options I wanted.
I use the **** out of any truck I have- towing, loading the hell out of it, whatever, and after the loads I have already run with this, I have no question about it's ability. Hardly a "grocery getter". Yanked around our big, loaded snow trailer just as well as the F150.
For the record my max tow is 9900lbs on my Ram, 300 higher than my F150, with a higher GCWR. Like mentioned above- it will be interesting to see what happens when Ford dumps the fully boxed frame for 2015. So hopefully after this we will see some big changes from the Ford camp to beat them. Maybe my next one will be a Ford again

Winning the Motor Trend Car or Truck of the Year is as impressive as getting into the pants of a slutty chick... It'll get you a high five from your buddies but it's nothing to brag about later on

I drove a new Dodge.
I liked the ride, the hi-fi, the way it worked with my iPhone, the nicer interior.
I did not like the noisier engine (I have an ecoboost)
the smaller bed
and the smaller rear seat area.
I loved the under-floor storage.
And the storage on the bedside.
I missed the tailgate step and pole.
