I just installed a motofab 2" level after researching every brand imaginable. I agree with Zimmer on this. Too many people overthink these spacers.
The only bad thing about the motofab spacer was the directions that are unclear and you need to completely remove the strut from the lower control arm.
It's nearly impossible to Insert the strut between the lower control arm and the strut housing after you install the spacer. If I had a spring compressor to compress it about 5mm I would have had them both installed in 1 hr.
Also the installation of the bolts and nuts they supply is not clear. You actually need to thread the original nuts removed from the top of the strut onto the allen cap head screws supplied. I can imagine some people driving around with only the cap head screws installed which would be very sloppy.
I'm happy with the purchase. For $61.00 shipped from Amazon you can't beat it.

I tried installing a 2" lift in my '13 F150 4x4 today. Once I studied the top, it was fairly easy to get it mounted to the shock. However, not even Superman himself could have compressed that shock to slide into the shock pocket on the lower control arm. I whaled on that shock for about 4 hours today with a pry-bar, and could not get it in. It would keep sliding up the pry bar. I had to put everything back together and do some more studying. I really don't want to have to remove the lower control arm/assembly, but I don't see any other way to get any more clearance. The axel just won't let the lca drop enough.
Did you have any issues getting the shock back in place? Did I wimp out too early? I plan to give in another whirl next weekend when I have more time.
Even w/ macpherson spring compressors I could not get the shock to shrink enough.

If the AutoSpring kit isn't in your price range for a leveling kit you shouldn't be doing a leveling kit. Why go with something different than what's already proven itself and for a great price!

Christ there is a million Leveling kit threads on this site. They have used the same style level kits since 2004. There are tons of write up, tons of videos. They all do the same thing. A spacer won't change the ride at all. How can it your putting it on the exact same strut and spring that is stock and the level kit has nothing to do with the spring and dampening effect.

And changing the entire geometry of the front suspension... But I guess you already knew that.

I drove on a 2" hell bent steel aluminum puck for a year and a half. It changed nothing about the ride absolutely nothing. If you had driveability issues it was likely a ****ty alignment job after you added it.
