Molded Leadframe extended warranty

There is a difference between the recall and the extended warranty. And of all of those topic links there is only one that is specifically about the warranty. And it is very light in details. I created a post with specific information at the beginning of the topic for people to easily find and read quickly with out having to dig through hundreds of posts. We all know first hand how difficult it is to filter out important information on the internet. Some times we have to search and read for hours just to piece together what we're looking for. For someone who might have just gotten screwed over by a less then honest dealership on an expensive repair, easily finding this information would be very helpful.
So, whomever is looking at whatever, it gets complicated.

Part of the forum/reading issue is that Ford's first recall/warranty on the leadframe came out 3 years ago, for some 2011 trucks. And has been discussed since before that, I believe. It was expanded after that to 2012, and now our new letter indicates the expansion to 2013 trucks. (Finally!!)

Its interesting how these problems and recalls have expanded out starting with the 11's three years ago and now the 13's, maybe by next year the 14's will be included. I'm also curious how many letters from lawyers scared them into expanding the coverage for the lead frame. :p I knew when the recall first came out it was a BS bandaid fix just to try to limit their cost. Just like Boeing using software to fix an airframe flaw. Actually the similaritys are kind of scary. A malfunctioning sensor, that has no redundancy programmed in, causes the computer to respond with catastrophic consequences. Our world has got this unhealthy love affair with software and sooner or later its going to come crashing down around us.

I had Trans trouble in 2-19 before the letter came out. The Wrench warning light came on and a dealer on the road in Indiana told me an extended warranty was coming. They registered on the repair invoice that it was a Lead Frame problem. Three months later I got the letter and now two other dealers will not honor the 19N01 Lead Frame extended warranty because they say the codes no longer show up on the diagnostic test. Ford Customer Service told me there was nothing they would do.

I got the letter for the PCM programming, but never got anything for the lead frame... Took it in for the same issue as the lead frame after looking it up on here and ford is replacing it for free. I get the the truck back today. Was a bit worried because the truck is heavy modified but they didnt care.
