After my larger wheels, tires and tune I get about 8 to 9 mpg around town. I have had as high as 16.5 mpg's on our rural highways. The closest Interstate is almost 2 hours away so I don't get up to those speeds often enough to test it out. If I remember correctly the last time I did it was about 14.5 mpg's.

Almost 14 highway (65 mph) and about 10.5 in town (stop and go) with my 35" tires and 4" lift. Also running 5* P/T tune.

Regardless though I think your mileage is on par with others stock or modded.
He has a custom tune and a Boss 302 Intake, 340 is believable at the higher ranges of the 5.0, also if his custom tune writer is good, he gained some low end on the 5.0 as well.

I agree, 50hp is a lot to gain... But if you go look at anyone who has put the Boss manifold on, they are seeing really big gains with just generic email tunes. I had a custom dyno tune that was data logged. The guy tuned my truck for 6 hours logging it and what not. So yes, the guy who tuned it is really, really good in my area. He's one of Houston's best modular engine tuners. He even informed me when I picked it up that he could have pushed the motor a lot more but due to the fact that I have a crew cab with a (2) piece drive shaft, there is only so much he could pull from it without causing damage. So the tune I have isn't like an MPT, or 5* email tune... My truck was tuned specifically to what I have. Plus, iv'e seen most people who run the boss manifold, have a weak exhaust set-up. Most have just a one in, two out set up with the cats connecting to the factory "Y" connection. I don't have that "y" connection. I have a true dual set up with (2) one in, one out mufflers with an x-pipe. Better flow=better power. I agree that it sounds crazy to get a gain like that with a bolt on... Trust me. I was skeptical at first until I took the truck to the tuner. following up on the MPG i get, its pretty good because for one, I don't have a heavy foot (only on Friday's lol) and my commute to work is all highway miles with me being on cruise control for much of it. but honestly, I really appreciate all of your responses! really! I love intelligent responses lol I would rather have this thread going like it is, versus no one replying to it. So thanks for the reply's guys!

5 star 93 performance/tow, jlt intake, and corsa catback.
My overall average (hand calculated) for the life of the truck is just over 16mpg. Truck doesn't see the interstate much but it sees higher rpms often cause of my heavy right foot so I am quite impressed with mileage my truck is able to get.

And every dyno is different guys. No need to argue about his HP numbers.
