I have fx4 with Ecoboost and wouldn't go with anything else so that's my vote

IMHO: If you're not going to take a Raptor off road... don't get one, that's just a crime to me.

Which engine does the Platinum on the lot have?

Looks like the Platinum on the lot is not going to be much use to me given the 3.55 regular axle configuration and mine is currently 3.15 reg; albiet the Platinum is 4WD vs my lovely but useless in winter RWD.

There is a lightly used Limited with 3.73 LSD (not in my preferred all black / silver) which may be a little better

Though it seems to me as though I have to have the locking diff as in the FX4 or SVT so I don't run into the troubles I experienced last year.

You do not need a lock diff for driving NE roads in the winter. 4wd with traction control is all you will need.

The way this winter is strating - do you want to wait until Jan for the truck?

No, the way this winter has started that is the big driver for changing it up. We only has about 8-12 inches last week but created havoc, had to abandon the house to a hotel as multiple trees again fell dragging power lines to the driveway with them. no power for 6 days AGAIN (Irene too), so like the ability to be able to get out of the driveway / access road when I have to. Managed to with 800 lbs of sand in the back, wife, kid, dog, mother in law during the October Storm.
I can't take another Jan like last year.
Just need the views on here to make a good decision so I can tell my dealer to source the right truck for me - QUICKLY
