This could have come down to who had the best tires, suspension, and driver.

Terminator Cobras made impressive pump gas power under heavy boost using a smaller 4 valve engine. While it may take a forged bottom end and head porting, I think the 5.0 could make most power on 91 octane.

Keeping the displacement the same, and throwing everything available at each motor and running the boost as high as you can on 91 pump gas, I vote Coyote.

But of course a 4 valve 6.2 with a Kenne Bell blower on top, would top them all, but cost the most, I think the 5.0 would be cheaper to build too.

JLP has F150 5.0's putting 580hp to the rear wheels on stock internals, non-ported heads.

The 6.2 wasn't built to withstand f/i, cast pistons, forged rods and a steel crank. 600ish seems to be a safe number but not much higher without better pistons.

The internals of the 5.0 and the ECO are the same - hyper pistons, powdered rods, forged crank. Both have piston squirters as well.

Which one will have more power depends on the owners wallet.
Maybe I'm mistaken but i thought i read somewhere that the Eco had a forged crank and pistons? Along with the 6 bolt mains and that the pistons are the same design that is used in the 6.7 diesel??

A V8 "ecoboost" as hinted in that Sema video would be immense! I'm very impressed with the current Eco trucks, but I just couldn't ever love a truck quite as much with a six cylinder... Full-sized trucks ought to have full-sized engines IMO. 2014 or 2015 can't come soon enough

I thought the same thing until I took one for a test drive. After that ride I didn't care how many cylinders were under the hood! I had to have it! Once I hooked it to my travel trailer I was amazed how it towed with ease never going over 2600rpm's on the steepest hills. I could only imagine what kind of BEAST a 5.0 ecoboost would be!

The ECO and 5.0 have hyper pistons, powdered rods and forged cranks. Eco does have a 6 bolt main.

Ford 6.7 has cast pistons

Sure adds up quick when you need 4 cams and 32 valve springs. I could save on the gears by ordering the truck with 3.73's like my '09.
