I Plasti-dip'd both bumpers and replacement grille. The bumpers are chrome.

Just picked up my XL on Saturday! I didn't sacrifice much. In fact, the way I see it, I gained. I got it with a tow package, power group package, 4x4, and XL plus package. Walked out of the dealership paying $24,500 with $14k covered on a trade in. With the money I saved on getting an XLT, I can make it my own.

Got the 3.7l, enough power to keep me happy and good enough gas mileage to save me some $$. I paid a good price for what I wanted, and I left enough to keep me busy and get exactly what I wanted out of the truck. Don't ever "justify" a car purchase, you spent a good chunk of time behind the wheel. Get something you enjoy being in, and enjoy driving!

BTW... Here she is Take a good look at the "Before".. Already got some parts/mods ordered and en route!

nice truck pumkin. congrats. I have never been a high option type of guy when it comes to vehicles so honestly by getting an XL, I dont feel as though I am "settling". I like the STX because of the body color grille & bumpers. the XL comes with painted bumpers so they are easy to repaint to match and the grille is easily replaced. I plan on getting stock 18 or 20" wheels no matter what.

I actually kind of prefer manual locks and windows, but the window cranks in the F150's are in a funky spot and are just uncomfortable to use. plus I want power mirrors.

painted bumpers
power windows and mirrors
cloth 40/20/40 split bench with lumbar
base model radio
5.0 with select shift trans

these are my gotta have's this pretty much dictates what I get and the only trim that falls into that category is the XL.

Traded off my 2010 STX 2v 4.6 2wd for my 2011 XL 5.0 4x4 NO REGRETS! The horsepower is awesome. Plus I get to mold the truck just the way I want. My beast is in for a lot of changes. Moving to Denver Co. with very close to work. With the money I save on gas going to have some fun.

Thx bro! Any mods on it yet? Love the XL model. Mine came with the power package and keyless entry. There really wasn't a difference from STX besides the flooring. This rubber floor has been awesome with my husky. Would take hours to vacuum hair out. But adding running boards today so new pics to come.

I have a silver 09 XL single cab that will have some mods on it very soon. I have a belltech 2" rear drop shackle kit and a set of rims off of an 08 F-150 that will be going on hopefully this week. I also want to paint the outside edge of the grille and the black plastic underneath the grille to match the rest of the truck. jcxl11, how did you do the grille on yours?

I've loved the Vinyl flooring on mine as well! Still looking into getting some all weather/rubber floor mats so I don't wear a hole though the vinyl. I got essentially the same package as yours, with the 3.7l instead of the ecoboost and a tow package for some light hauling! What running boards did you get? I just ordered a set of nerf bars the other day

Pulled the grill off the truck. Took like an hour to tape the line I want on the center of the grill. Light grade sand paper to take the texter off. Wipe it down and dry it good. Make sure it's smooth and clean. Two cans of oxford white and clear for autozone. Set mine on a small table in the garage. This way I could paint all the way around the grill but still ensure it dried fast. Don't recommend doing it outside wind and bugs are a big issue. Anyway once setup just painted evenly til I ran through the white and clear. Make sure to hold the color can at least eight inches away. Cause if you spray to thick it will run like crazy. Once I was done I let it dry for two hour before putting it back on.
