Default mod head lights and tails

If searched and searched but cannot find what I want
lots if headlight retros and videos of separating lens from body
but I want to separate then paint the CHROME.
On the videos that I have seen this part stays on the lense.
How do you separate this fromt the lense?

I want to remove the lense then paint the CHROME

?? Remove the clear lens, then remove the bezel from the housing, then you should be where you want to be. I am a little confused.

The chrome bezel is separate from the lens for both the headlight and the tail light. The only difference is you can heat up the headlight and separate the lens from the bezel. The tail light would require carefully cutting around the inside perimeter and then sealing it back up when you are done. Easier just to buy new tail lights.

Here's the painting process and parts when taken apart. If you're keeping chrome obviously you don't want to do the reflector bowl. Tail lights are a whole different story, there's a thread that details opening those and its a very complicated process. mod head lights and tails-image-1355587067.png mod head lights and tails-image-173526008.png mod head lights and tails-image-1558894731.png
