Has anyone put on Folding & Heated Mirrors on 2012 XLT???
Hi Guys,
I was thinking about changing my Mirrors on my 2012 XLT-XTR to Folding Mirrors w/heat.
1- has anyone done this on there 2012 XLT
2- is there exsisting wiring there to hook them up
3- if so where is a good place to get aftermarket mirrors
4- or is the cost way too much
I have Power Mirrors and it seems I have the right switch that you push down to fold the mirrors in
Im only wanting to know on the 2012, as it seems these trucks change so much year to year.
Thanks
Grant

Have a set of OEM Takeoffs
Dad just bought a 2013 Gray Platinum with the folding mirrors and had the dealer change them out for the Trailer Towing Mirrors available thru parts/accessories. So, he wants to sell the takeoffs. I'll have to ask how much he wants for them, would you be interested? My email is in my profile if you want to contact me direct.

I'll let you know still trying to find out if the wiring is there on my 2012XLT to swap these mirrors out. I still don't know what kind of price, Im looking at for mirrors Factory compared to after market.
Thanks!

When I sold my power fold and got the tow mirrors, there was some type of deal by the fuse box under the passenger side consol. I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what it was. Member Moerod is the one I sent them to and he added them

I upgraded the mirrors on my 2011 XLT. At first I only had power adjust - that's all. I went with mirrors that had signals, heat, dimming and adjust. When I plugged them in the wiring was there for the signals and heat which weren't on my original mirrors.
(I have not been able to find out about the dimming feature. How do it get it to work? What other parts do I need?)
I would like to think yours would do the same but I just don't know about the power fold feature. It seems strange that you would have the button to power fold already without that feature originally being on the truck.
Note: for the mirror heat feature to work I had to buy a new A/C climate control head that had the button on it for the mirror heat. I was lucky I found it for like $65 online, installed it, pushed the button and had heat.
