Default missing pillar handle

i have a question. Is it possible to have the pillar handle installed since they don't come stock with one on the driver side door anymore?

No. There is no structure underneath for it to bolt or mount to.

Wish my 11 had one. All I know is that in ten years the outside of the A-pillar on my truck will be worn to bare metal from grabbing it to helpm getting in. What I don't get is that the Expedition's at work have a grab handle and I know at least one of them is a '10. Thought they shared enough basic structure; maybe not.

I just hold onto the door panel armrest and seatback as I'm getting in. Works very well.

People are always asking if you can do it, and you can't even if an aftermarket company made the trim piece, because the passenger side pillar bolts in, and the driver's side just clips into place.

well thanks for the tips guys. yeah i have been grabbing the wheel and the door arm rest to get in but it's a lot trickier of a stunt especially if ive started the truck with the key cause then the wheel istnt locked and doesnt give me something fixed to pull on but anywho it's the best i can do. then i go somewhere in my '08 and im like wow, soooo much easier! oh well still really like my new truck! one of fords best ever imo... if it had the grab handle it would be the perfect truck! thats whats a shame about it, to go so far and produce such an awesome piece of american machinery and then leave out one detail but still, solid engine, tranny, a/c, ect., ect., those are the biggies and ford hits the mark there so no complaints here!
