Default Mishimoto's F-150 Aluminum Expansion Tank Thread

Hey Guys,

I'm starting this thread today to let you know that we've started our development on an aluminum expansion tank for the F-150s. We've heard that the stock tank has some leaking issues so we're looking to fix that with a stylish new tank. I'll keep you guys updated as the project progresses and of course links to our full write ups as they come out.

Feel free to hit me with any suggestions or ask any questions you might have!

Per your previous thread, it looks like this is just for the 2009 and 2010 guys as well as the ones with the 6.2?

So this is for the 2011-2014 Ecoboost models. Sorry about that, I should have clarified that in the previous post.

That should work with the 5.0 and 3.7 trucks then!

Yup! Just double checked our fitment list and it'll fit those as well!

What kind of fitting do you plan to use one to connect the coolant hose? The factory quick-connect type or something else?

Interesting, I've wondered why there was no decent after market replacement for this. Whats your time frame for getting this from development to market? Also, what hose will it use, will it utilize the factory style hose or will it come with an after market hose as a supplement in replacement of the factory hose? I believe the over flow hose is specific to motor?

Right now the rough estimate is towards the end of the summer, beginning of fall. As for the fittings, we're planning on ditching the quick disconnect, but I'll get more into that with our blog post, which is coming soon!

I am interested to see, my trucks nearing the 100K mark, the over flow is something I've been eyeing to replace as maintenance. Driving out of state for work, it's not something I want to crack or leak while I am on the road.

I'm interested as well, already have replaced the T-Connector / O-Rings.
