Default Mirrors dimming at night

Does anyone else think the mirrors dim way too much at night? The drivers side outside mirror on my truck gets so dark, it makes me uncomfortable to pass.
I did unplug the connector on the back of the (inside center rear view) mirror, but I am not sure what else I am disabling when I do that. I see there are 5 wires there.
My navigation is still accurate and telling me which direction I am driving in. I like to keep things factory so I dont want to cut the wires. If I knew what wire it was, maybe I could remove just that wire from the connector (and put it back in if I sold the truck in the future).

I think theyre just right, no issues! I also have my front side windows tinted 20%! Im sure you can unplug them no problems, just make sure its not the wires that heat the mirrors! Youll have to take the glass off in order to unplug that wire though, not a biggie...

Did you get your side windows tinted? Probably not but thought I'd ask

I like the way mine work, it does take getting used to them. I wouldn't have a ruck without them now.

The only thing I have done so far is unplug the wire from the rear view center mirror in the truck.
I know thats where the sensor that tells ALL the mirrors to dim is mounted. You can see the little sensor towards the top of the glass on the mirror. Hold your finger on it at night and you will see your mirrors "brighten up". I would put a piece of tape there, but it would look foolish right on the glass. I think it was my Escape that had that sensor mounted just below the glass on the mirror. I hid a little piece of electrical tape on it and you couldnt even see it. My mirrors never dimmed (which is what I want).
Maybe I will have to unplug wires one after another on the mirror until I figure out which one connects to that sensor. I realize some of you like the dimming, but for me, its just too dark. I perfer to clearly see the traffic around me.

What side view mirrors do you guys have that dim? I'm assuming the little ones? I have the tow mirrors on my '12 and they don't dim, wish they did though, even with tinted windows.

One more reason that I should get a set of the standard mirrors. I don't really "need" the tow mirrors. I've had the truck for over a year and I still don't like how they look. Plus, they're a pain in the *** when going through drive thrus and ATMs.
