I can't wait to try the mod on mine. I'll let you know when I get the parts, so you can come over and help, lol. The tailgate assist is now something I want to do too.

Another one done. My leds finally arrived from china on a really slow boat. I used a white 9 light strip. I cut the positive line on the last 3 and soldered in another positive lead to give me 3 lights for park lights and 6 for signals with the signals on the outer edge. I added wiring for puddle lights ,if I find something suitable it will be easy to add them. When I figure out how to add pics I will post them. Great mod thanks for posting.

I just did this mod yesterday and I love it, the ugly orange reflectors actually have a purpose now. I did mine through the puddle lamp hole on the bottom of the mirror, it was a pain to fit splicers on what little wire I could pull out but much easier than pulling apart the entire mirror. It took about an hour and a half to do, including the half hour I spent trying to plug the wires back onto the rear facing signal on the drivers side. I had to unplug it to get enough slack to splice off of the wires.

I think he edited a previous post on this thread with pictures. I went to radio shack and found the bridge rectifiers, board and box. There were two different rectifiers but the other had bigger legs that wouldn't fit in the board the same way as in the pictures.

I already ran my wires from the turn signal bulbs to the passenger kick panel. The black box fits perfectly behind the fuses. I just have to run the wires thru the doors to my leds. I have a set of extra leds to test the black box before taking the door panel off.
