I added the anzo smoked signals today, they look great.. I did it a little on the unorthodox side...I had a beat up set of heated and window side blinker mirrors. So since I have a new (ish) 2014 my mirror caps and the part that goes onto the truck are new and the heated is beat up everywhere except the mirror, I swapped the wiring from the heated mirrors to the mirrors on my truck and while I was at it added the anzo's and the window side blinkers all I need to do is grab a climate control with the rear defrost and that part will work.. The blinkers are up and running and I have to say that the anzo's look great! I'll post a picture up soon as it's raining now , started 5 minutes after I finished thank goodness! I guess I'm hoping to give hope to those with an STX or someone without blinkers and heated mirrors that you don't need to buy a new set of mirrors if yours are in good shape you can literally swap the wires etc find a set at a junkyard and possibly save yourself some $$$.. Hope I'm making sense and without pics I know I know...but with a 4 year old and a pregnant wife I'm happy I've enough time to do the project (1.5hrs) and type this post!!

Bye F150, hello F250
I did this to mine a long time ago. Actually went one step further and ran a wire from a running light feed through a 270 Ohm Resistor, a diode, to the LED strip. SO it works as a running light with lower intensity and a blinker at full.
Last Thursday, a school bus decided to take out my mirror while sitting at a light (Ha! caught it on dash cam video!!). The shop gave me an after market mirror. This one does not have the disc to separate the mirror from the motor/backing plate. Rather, there looks like there are 9-10 clips holding the glass onto a round part which has a dust boot covering up things.
Has anyone ever taken the glass of an after market mirror like this? I need to get a line from the cab to the LED strip (already through the door into the lower part of the mirror, tried for hours to fish it up and down, but gave up)
??
Part number for new mirror if fo1320411 (Taiwan made!)

A little side note to those w/prewired mirrors
I finaly got my signals put in the side mirrors and like usual in my case it wasn't as easy as some have had it . I had to route it to the inside mirror plug harness which wasn't hard just took some time ... One thing , if your mirrors are not pre wired ....you may as well take the whole mirror off first because you can't route the wires all the way into the door without doing it anyway .... Then pop your mirror off , way easier and you won't change dropping your mirror as you can do it on the work bench Thanks to all you guys for the tutorials , helped me a bunch ....
