Default Miles per Tank

What kind of miles per tank are you guys getting? My 11 XLT 5.0 has a 36 gal tank and I was amazed to squeeze 625 miles out of it. For me, that's about 17 mpg in mostly city traffic w/ a/c blasting and long periods of idling. And I didn't have to get gas for 2 weeks. Pretty impressive I'd say and better than any other truck I've owned.

my average is 280-300 miles with 26 gallon tank and 70 miles left. If I drive to fuel light it's around 320 miles (about 13.5 mpg avg)..

Awesome not having to stop for gas every few days. Wow 700 out of an EB. Nice. I got 625 out of mine by driving like a grandma and pushing it past the warning light. Rolling the dice on running out isn't smart though. Just wanted to see (just once) how far i could push it. Real world driving would Prob be more like 525.

I have no idea how people get more than 14 mpg, unless they are driving slow and take off like snails. I'm an inpatient person and driving 55-60mph just doesn't cut it.

Straight highway, I have put almost 700 miles on a tank before it said 5 miles to E, so I filled up. Still had a couple gallons in it.

Yep, I get a little over 17 city. That equates to over two weeks of driving, but to fill up the giant tank at today's gas prices, it's over the $100 cap on pump authorizations, so you never get a full tank, unless you run your card through the machine twice. Last time I did that, it was over $120 total. Ouch!

To avoid sticker shock of a full tank, I fill up around half a tank, roughly every 8 or 9 days.

But to the original point, with better mileage and larger tanks, the range of these new trucks is fantastic! To be able to fill up, drive a couple days around town, decide to drive to the coast and back, a 350 round trip, drive around the beaches, and still drive a few more days around town when I get back is pretty cool. Rarely is the first stop leaving the house for a road trip the gas station anymore.

Ford's making awesome trucks these days!
