Might transition to a sedan
After two tour of duties with a 2012 XLT 5.0 and, a 2014 XLT 5.0, I may be departing and going to a sedan. Test drove a VW Passat yesterday and was impressed at the styling and the handling and option package. I'm pretty much just using my truck to go to work and run errands. I can do this in a sedan. I towed a few times but I have a 10 year old GMC Sierra if a truck is required. Last sedan I owned was my 1991 Buick Century, which was a great car, only got rid of it as I wanted a SUV Explorer type vehicle. And drove noting but SUV's and trucks after that.

Do it. I own a 4Runner I no longer use for the reasons I bought it for. I'm picking up a Fusion on Wednesday.

Hey you need to choose the right vehicle for your mission. Good luck with the change...
But I have to ask what the reasons are for the change. MPG? If you're taking a $2000 hit on trading the truck and buying a new vehicle, it will take a long time to make up the difference in fuel on the short trip work/errand scenario you mentioned.

If you already have a truck, why have 2? If I didn't have a boat or need 4x4 for winter by me, I'd have a sedan.

My wife has a 14 passat TDI and I make excuses to drive it every chance I get. Not sure if your looking at the gas or diesel but if your thinking the diesel I would hold off. VW has a big scandal going on right now with a cheat device on them.
