Goalie25, I know the Duratracs are not winters and wont be as good as a blizzak but I dont think a blizzaks will do very good for wear with the amount I pull. My plan was siping some BFGs for winter then running either the Toyo MT or Mickey Thomson ATZ in the summer. Now thanks to ceb I am pretty sure it will be the ATZ in the summer. The Duratrac seems to be the new go to tire for all around so maybe I will sipe a set and use those for winter. Thanks again for all the help.
You won't be disappointed with either tire. Excellent choices. The duratracs have excellent siping already too

295x65x18 (33.1 by 11.8 wide) duratracs...love the way they ride

I've heard nothing but good things about the tire

Ceb I forgot to ask if you have any rubbing at all with the width of that tire? I was pretty set on the Mickey Thomson ATZ then I ran across a thread where a truck had the ATZ 33/12.5/20 and they were rubbing. It wasn't the same 20" OEM Rim. I am guessing not all the Ford Factory rims have the same off set.

Have the rest of you guys seen anyone run a DuraTrac 305/55/20 on a 20inch OEM Ford Rim and not rub?? I am guessing with its side bitters it will rub also.

This leaves me with the BFG AT 305/55/20 unless I go for a skinnier tire.

Thanks again for all the help!!

I ran terra grapplers on my rims with not issues. The duratracs seem narrower in appearance, so I'd imagine it'll fit. Worse case scenario... Get a leveling kit... a decent tire shop would order both sets in, to let you try the fitment

The 12.5 width tire will rub on the UCA at full lock. Not very much room between tire and upper ball joint. With 2.5" front spacer, there is no rubbing on front valance or rear wheel well; no trimming was required. As long as you stick with stock wheels or close to stock wheel specs, you should be fine with that width.

I will be sticking with the OEM 20inch FX4 Wheels, does rubbing on the UCA cause any long term damage??

No long term damage, just the annoying sound. I very rarely will need to turn at full lock in the course of normal driving. In fact, the only time that it has happened was intentionally trying to see when it would rub.

[QUOTE=ceb;1553774]I have about 5k miles on my set of ATZ's. Running them at 38 psi. Initially they were a little louder than I thought they would be. Nice hum from 40-55 mph. On interstate at speeds above 65 mph they aren't loud at all. The ride stiffened up quite a bit, but they are E rated tires. Not a harsh ride, but exactly what was expected with that load range. Can feel just a little vibration from the lugs as you come almost to a stop. Picking up rocks really hasn't been an issue as I haven't seen many in the tread or heard the loud pop of one slinging out at highway speeds. I really haven't found any negative issues with the tires except I wish the sidewall was a little more aggressive. Great tire that I would buy again.

Absolutely spot on with this one^! Had ATZ's on my Chevy 03' 1500 rode great, like ceb said noise picked up between 50-60mph I thought. Even herd them over my flowmasters (slighlty) at them speeds. For me handled snow, mud, rain,& even some icy conditions well. Nice beefy look too.

You might consider the new DC Fun Country II. Good looking tire with proven history, and a tire that everybody else doesn't have.

Same with the Cooper ST Maxx.

Hey Guys,
Great thread so far, I almost forgot about Mickey T. I have a question though. I have 2.5 level in the front, 2" Raptor block in the back and stock 18 FX4 Rims. What is the maximum diameter i can put in my wheel wells?
I'm looking at TOYO MT 285/70/18. 34.1 inch diameter... think they'll fit?
