Apparently, anything that has to do with sync must be done during the week (it would have been nice to be made aware of this when I made the appointment, so I didn't waste my time or the service departments time), because they must contact ford for it. They wanted me to leave the truck for three days so it could be done, but would not provide a loaner vehicle.

Now I am back to square one, with more then a few hours wasted on a ridiculously expensive accesory that doesn't function, until I can do a mid week appointment.

My '14 does the same exact thing. Ford rep here recommended a master reset. I tried it to no avail. I really don't have the time now to take it to the dealer just to be told they reset it. If you find a fix keep us in the loop. I just quit connecting my phone to it all together.

The phone must be paired to the vehicle in order to see the SHOW NOTIFICATIONS option within the Bluetooth settings of the iPhone. Try following these steps: http://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-t...ur-iphone.html

Let me know if you run into any trouble.

I have a iPhone 5s it use to have an option of show notification but now it doesn't?

I think I have come up with a work around for the issue, after some thorough investigating. But I am not confident that the issue won't come back again in a week, like it did before with the master reset.

Do you have the Automatic 911 call set to off? I did and once I turned it back on, the issue seems to have gone away.

This to me (if it does continue to work) is just a small work around, I still consider this expensive accessory broken due to the update issued by Ford as it does not work correctly with the settings provided in the system. This is a massive failure by their quality assurance department to not properly vet the updates being provided to their customers.

At this point, I don't even know if you could trust the automatic 911 feature to actually call for help when it is needed.

I must be the exception here, I updated my 14 KR to gen 2 v3.7 and have had zero problems or issues. I had re-pair my phone and reset some of my personal settings, in fact I'm able to get text message notifications now, but everything seems to work as advertised. Sucks that you folks having these problems, hopefully you get them sorted out to your satisfaction. I have an iPhone 5s if that helps.

Yes I have it turned off. Perhaps I'll turn it back on and see how it acts. I really don't want it calling 911 though.

Any luck with this fix? Mine still seems to be functioning correctly now.

In that case, try performing a master reset by following these steps: http://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-t...=my-ford-touch While the system is resetting, hold the POWER and HOME buttons on the phone until the Apple logo appears. Pair the phone to the MyFord Touch system by following these instructions: http://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-t...=my-ford-touch Once the phone is paired, turn the engine off. Start the truck back up and allow SYNC to automatically connect to your phone before attempting to adjust the SHOW NOTIFICATION settings.

Fill me in on what happens!

Are you thinking about taking it back to the dealership? Before you schedule an appointment, please send me a PM with your name, VIN, phone number, current mileage, and any other details about what's happening. I'll see how I can best assist.

I have had the same issues 2014 fx4 MFT upgraded to sync gen2 3.7. I wish I would not have. I was also told no way to return to the prior version from sync support. Same issue as original poster - put truck in reverse and I get a frozen blank phone screen. Home button does not work. I tried the "trick" of turn on 911 support and that fixed it. Worked every time today. Pretty buggy if you ask me. No way I can part with my truck for a day for a software issues. Sounds to me Ford needs to get with it and issue a fix that I can download on my time. Love my F150 but come on.,..
