This Is Messed Up: 2013 FX 4 Gear Ratios And Engine Combinations
4.10 gears only available with eco motor, max tow, and 20" premium wheels
3.73/3.55 gears available with eco motor, 5.0 motor.
3.55 gears only choice with 6.2 motor.
What? I don't get it. I run 35's and 3.55 gears are a joke. That's why the Raptor has 4.10 gears. Trying to order a new truck, but Ford sure makes it difficult.
Currently have a 2012 FX 4 with eco and 3.73 gears and it is a slug with 35's
Any Ideas why you can't get 4.10 gears with a 5.0 or 6.2?

On top of that, changing to '35's' is only a 6% difference in gearing, so there's really no ring and pinion option that's any closer than the stock 3.73s for 'returning' the F.D. to what it was with the stock 32's. I wanna say it'd require a 3.82 ring and pinion, and obviously those aren't made.
In any event, Ford doesn't, nor will it prolly ever take into account the very SMALL portion of F-150 owners who will want to install bigger tires on their truck(s) , when they're deciding on what gearing to offer. If it makes you feel any better, neither does GM or Dodge.
Especially when Ford and Dodge make trucks with what they consider to be 'Serious' off-road performance. In their mind(s), you'd just get a Raptor.

To he op, 35's with the Eco a slug ? This is a truck with one of the most torque friendly gas burners available in a 1/2 ton . Slug? No- what kind of truck are you trying to build?
